Adam Schaefer's 1979 Trans Am

Adam Schaefer bought his 403 powerd 1979 Trans Am in 1998. The engine was bored .O60 over. It sports an Engle cam, Edlebrock EGR intake, stock heads with 2.073 intake and 1.635 exhaust stainless steel valves, a stock re-worked Q-jet, roller rockers, MSD 6A with timing control, Hooker Headers, Flowmaster mandrel bent 2.5 exhaust kit with single muffler, Moser 28 spline axles with Eaton posi unit, Global West rear leaf springs with Del-a-Lum bushing and shackle kit, subframe connectors, rebuilt TH350. It has AC and passes CA emissions. It's driven daily and had run an 8.74 ET in the 1/8 mile on Pepboys 295/50/15 Futura street rubber.

Adams states that on a Dyno 2000 sim program the engine develops 385hp with 480 lbs torque...the program doesn't incorporate the roller rockers, the MSD or the free flowing exhaust. The engine loves VP117 octane gasoline according to Adam.

Future Plans: Some updated calipers and pads...maybe a harness and roll cage 6 point, 16" rims and paint.
